Ethos Chamber Players present Christmas Fantasies, an evening of holidays classics and favorites including works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky.

Clara Alonso Tofé is a professional violinist from Spain. She started her violin studies at the age of nine years old at the Professional Conservatory of Valladolid-Spain under the directions of Miss Ana Haliti and later, she finished her undergraduate studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla y Leon, Salamanca-Spain.

She holds two Master’s Degrees in Music with aiming in Violin Performance and Orchestra Conducting. She obtained both degrees at Sam Houston State University, where she studied with Dr. Javier Pinell in 2015-2017 and Dr. Jacob Sustaita in 2018-2020 respectively.

Throughout her career, she has been a member of acclaimed musical ensembles such as the Youth National Orchestra and Baroque Academy of Spain (JONDE), the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Galicia-Spain (OJSG) and Caja Duero Foundation Orchestra, Salamanca-Spain among others. Also, she has played as violin tutti with Conroe Symphony Orchestra, TX, Santa Cecilia Classic Orchestra, Madrid-Spain and the Royal European Ensemble of Excelentia Foundation.

Rewarded with the second and third prize at the SHSU Concerto Competition 2019 and 2018 by her violin interpretations of Korngold and Glazunov Violin Concerto, Clara has performed chamber music and solo repertoire in renowned venues such as National Auditorium of Spain (Madrid-Spain), Miguel Delibes Auditorium (Valladolid-Spain), Teatro Real (Madrid-Spain) and Steinway Hall of London (UK).

As a musical arranger, she collaborated with Aperio Music of Americas in 2017, creating a re-working of Philip Glass’ Etude No. 2 for Piano and String Quartet. This piece was performed in Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX, receiving great recognition from the media, such as the newspaper Houstonia. Passionate of music, Clara learns from the people around her such as the handbell choir at the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville TX, where she shares precious musical moments with friends. Also, she has a YouTube channel for beginners, “Violinist Clara Alonso Tofé,” where she creates entertaining content to musically educate the young generations.
