Suzanne Seiler

Suzanne’s unique ability to blur the lines between appearance and actuality shows in her mosaic works. Upon first examination, and especially when viewed from a distance, the forms in Suzanne’s individual mosaic tiles blend, and trick the eye into perceiving them as a solid, fluid painting. Divisionism, pointillism, and optical mixing also occurs in these works. Not only do the forms in her mosaic tiles blend together to indicate a solid painting, but her colors also mix in a similar way. Because of Suzanne’s intricate knowledge of color palates and complimentary colors, she places similar colors together in bordering mosaic tiles, and from a distance, they come together to form a solid, subtle and nuanced color scheme, made up of many different pigments.
