Elisabeth Stavinoha

Elisabeth Stavinoha’s current watercolor series combines figuration and abstraction in a unique way- her flowers are at once wispy and weightless. By expertly applying watercolor layering, Elisabeth produces a rich and complex color scheme. Her Winter’s Fusion series compliments the opening of the Glade Arts Foundation for late-Spring 2018, her use of pinks, reds and oranges along with the richness of colbalt tones is seasonally appropriate with its bright, light, and fresh color palate. Complimentary to Elisabeth’s weightless and abstracted flower scenes is her use of gold leafing, placed at the center of most of her flowers. The leafing grounds otherwise airy flowers, expressing a quality of sedate grandeur.
